Butwal, 26 January. A society of physicians working in various hospitals of Lumbini province has been formed. The 13-member Lumbini Internal Medicine Society was formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Vishnu Prasad Paudel from the first general meeting and convention held in Rupandehi on Friday. Senior Vice President Dr. Nandu Prasad Pathak, Vice President Dr. Maheshraj Ghimire, General Secretary Dr. Saroj Thapa, Secretary Dr. Krishna Kumar Aggarwal, Treasurer Dr. Bishal K.C., Co-Treasurer Dr. Shambhu Khanal, Members Dr. Mohanlal Tiwari, Dr. Sundar Pandey, Dr. Tilchand Pandey, Dr. Manish B.K., Dr. Krishna Khanal, Dr. Akash Shahi have been elected. The newly elected president, Dr. Bishnu Prasad Paudel, promised to emphasize the orientation programs and doctors’ professional rights.
In the middle of a program, Senior General Physician Dr. LB Bhatt while inaugurating the general meeting suggested that the health sector should be made effective and accessible to the common people. He said that if doctors are institutionalized, they will be able to help them in social work along with their professional rights.
